Zero She Flies
(From my Book: Art & Synchronicity as Daytime Dreams)
One of the main synchronicities in this painting emerged while listening to Al Stewart’s album Zero She Flies. Its 1970s folk-rock sound infused a halcyon rhythm that perfectly matched the serene essence I aimed to convey on the canvas. Al Stewart’s lyrics from Zero She Flies elevate my reflection on the painting from mere memoir to a harmonious fusion of art and song, where his folk-rock mysticism enhances purposeful straight lines over endless circles—with layers of spiritual and natural imagery. Structurally, they bookend the narrative: the soaring “Zero” mirrors my unconscious brushstrokes and dawn-lit serenity in the lifeguard stand, evolving into divinely guided flight under eagle-eyed watch, symbolizing the Holy Spirit’s primacy in my “0 + one” reversal. Emotionally, they infuse mythic depth, turning my tale of serenity and surrender into a fable of pursuit and harmony, where faith triumphs over frenzy like the tortoise on its racecourse. These words serve as the painting’s unspoken soundtrack, capturing the quiet victory of releasing the future (“don’t look too far”) amid divine observation, weaving synchronicity between canvas, spirit, and melody.
